Free GSD Hearts Background

hearts

Here is my free Craft Robo GSD pattern for September. This is quite an unusual design in that it cuts a background which you can then embellish and decorate as normal. It cuts an A5 panel with lots of various sized hearts cut from it.

To make the card in the photo, I cut the GSD file on pale pink card and then stuck it to a darker pink A5 card. I finished with some Anita’s floral ribbon and pink silk ribbons.

The download is a .zip folder containing one GSD files. You can open the GSD file in various cutting programs (e.g. Robo Master or Silhouette Studio, both of which are free to download).

You will need a cutting machine such as a Craft Robo to cut this design.

Floral GSD Cards

gsd-flowers2

Above: Flowers GSD Card Template 7

Below: Flowers GSD Card Template 6

Both of these cards were cut with my Craft Robo. I also cut a matching backing plate from gold paper to stick inside the card, behind the cutout. All that these stunning cards needed to finish them off were a few gold peel-offs. I love that these cards are really straightforward and quick to make, but they look stunning, especially when the sun shines on them and all the gold sparkles!

Craft Robo Cat

gsd-cat

Here is a card that I have made recently using my Craft Robo. I cut the Decorative Cat GSD Card Template from white card to make a 5×7 inch card with an over-the-edge design that follows the outline of the cat.

Next, I cut the matching backing plate which is included in the kit, from brown textured card. I used a combination of double sided tape and PVA glue to stick the backing plate to the inside of the card. I looked through my collection of peel-off stickers and found a sheet of cat designs. I stuck one to the same brown paper that I had cut the backing plate from, and then cut around the outline. I stuck this to my card using 3D foam pads. I kept with the gold theme of the peel-offs by sticking a border peel-off down the left hand side, and then finished with a “Happy Birthday” vertical sentiment.

I like the alignment of this card, as the middle is kept fairly plain, which draws the eyes to the cutout cat. It is a very intricate cat, which I think is really stylish. If you put a black mat behind it, you could use it for Halloween cards or invitations.

The Craft Robo card template is available to purchase on craftsuprint for only £1.00. The item number is cup238796_172.

Free GSD Smiley Face

face-preview

Here is my free Craft Robo GSD pattern for August. I’ve tried something new this time, and gone for a card topper rather than a card template. I am actually really pleased at how this turned out!

I cut the GSD file twice, once on black card and once on bright yellow. I assembled the topper by glueing the yellow sections on to the black circle. I decorated a black A5 card with yellow and black strips of card that I cut with my paper trimmer so that they had wavy edges. I stuck the smiley face topper to the card using 3D foam pads, and finished with a “Happy Birthday” sentiment. This is a really fun card topper that you could use for lots of different occasions, as well as for scrapbook pages, gift tags – anything really!

The download is a .zip folder containing one GSD files. You can open the GSD file in various cutting programs (e.g. Robo Master or Silhouette Studio, both of which are free to download).

You will need a cutting machine such as a Craft Robo to cut this design.

GSD Christmas Cards

gsd-christmas

Hello everyone, just wanted to let you know that I’ve recently uploaded two GSD Craft Robo Christmas card templates to craftsuprint. There is a Christmas Bells one and a Christmas Candle.

Here are some samples that I made. I used white card for the main card, and gold paper for the inside, along with gold peel-offs to decorate (the colours aren’t very good in the photo, but they are all gold!!)

I love this style of card, as they are really simple to make, but look really striking, and I always impress people when they try and work out how I cut out the pattern “so accurately” lol!! Sometimes I tell them about my craft robo… sometimes I just smile and tell them it’s a mystery hehe, how naughty am I?

GSD Apertures for Iris Folding

if-scottie

I have just released ten GSD apertures for iris folding onto CraftsUPrint. Take the effort out of iris folding by having your Craft Robo or other cutting machine cut the aperture shape out for you!

You can find them on CraftsUPrint by clicking here.

I started to get frustrated when iris folding at having to cut out the aperture, especially since my rotating craft knife broke and I had to make do with a normal one, which was more difficult, so I thought… wouldn’t it be nice if I DIDN’T have to cut the aperture? And so, the idea of using my Craft Robo was born.

At the moment, I’ve converted ten of my iris folding patterns into GSD apertures, but I intend to do all of them over time.

When you purchase one of my aperture kits, you will receive two GSD files. One will cut an A6 card front with the iris folding aperture in the middle, and the other will cut an A5 card front with the iris folding aperture in the middle. Also included is a .jpg A4 sheet with the iris folding pattern guides on it. The sheet contains both the A5 and A6 versions of the iris folding pattern. You will also receive instructions on how to use the files for iris folding, and links to iris folding instructions on the CraftsUPrint forum site in case you are new to this craft.

Free GSD Flowers

flower

Two freebies in two days, I’m spoiling you!

Since it’s Summer (or at least it WAS, it doesn’t feel like it now with all the rain we’ve been having here!), I thought a floral design would be perfect for July’s free GSD card template.

This template will cut an over-the-edge style card with flowers going down the right side of the card. A matching shaped backing mat is included which you can cut seperately and stick to the inside of your card, keeping the shaped edge in tact.

The download is a .zip folder containing two GSD files. By default, the card will be cut to 5×7 inches, however you can change this in your cutting file program (e.g. Robo Master or Silhouette Studio, both of which are free to download).

You will need a cutting machine such as a Craft Robo to cut this design.

It’s Father’s Day soon, so I thought I would make this month’s free GSD card template something to do with Dads.

The card front that cuts the phrase “TO THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD” from the front.

The download is a .zip folder containing a GSD file. By default, the card will be cut to 5×7 inches, however you can change this in your cutting file program (e.g. Robo Master or Silhouette Studio, both of which are free to download).

You will need a cutting machine such as a Craft Robo to cut this design.

Craft Robo Word Cards

I spent a good part of my nice long weekend with my Craft Robo! I was hoping that my new mats and blade would turn up on Saturday, so that I could cut out all of my new templates to check they worked correctly – and they did! I’m not sure what I managed to do to my old mats, but they ended up with absolutely no stick on them AT ALL! I heard that washing them with warm water and a bit of fairy liquid helped to make them sticky again, but it seemed to have the complete opposite effect, and I managed to render them completely useless. Hence why I had to buy some more. Grr!

I had the complete opposite problem with the new ones – they were WAY WAY too sticky, to the point where I could hardly get my card off once it had been cut, and when I did, it curled up into a roll and was pretty much useless. I flattened all of my cutouts under a load of card overnight, which seemed to flatten them out long enough to take photographs of them, but soon after they rolled up again, so they are back under the card! Has anyone else had this problem before? After about 15 uses, the mat became less sticky, so the cards stopped rolling up, but it was still annoying whilst it lasted.

Anyways, I have finished uploading the 10, 11 and 12 letter Word Cards to craftsuprint. I’ve finished my original list of words to make cards from, but since then I have thought of about thirty more! I’m taking a break for a while though.

I don’t know what to do with all of the cutout cards that I tested! I have about 100 different designs, that are not really any use to me. I’m thinking about putting them on eBay as a “job lot” and starting the price really low, just to get rid of them… what do you think?

Here are a few of the cards that I made over the weekend, if you click the picture it will take you to the product page on craftsuprint, where you can purhase the GSD files for only £1.00 each! Alternately, you can just view all of my GSD Word Cards on CraftsUPrint.
