Spotlight on… Castle Cards

castle-card

Castle Cards were a new card making technique that I devised back in June 2010. They are very simple to make, yet striking to look at, and will definitely stand out amongst other cards! The finished card will fold to fit inside a standard C5 envelope (A4 folded).

You will need two sheets to make the cards with. One is the main card template and the other contains pyramid layers, sentiment toppers and a back panel to write you message on. Castle Cards require very little equipment to make. Just some card or thick paper to print the sheets onto, scissors, double-sided tape or glue and 3D foam pads or silicon glue. Simple!

You can find Castle Card instructions on craftforums.co.uk.

Diamond Base 3D Cards

A new card making concept has appeared at craftsuprint! Talented designer Sandie Burchell has created NEW Diamond Base 3D Card Kits.

Here is what Sandie has to say about her new concept:

“These are very quick and so easy to cut out and make (mainly straight lines to cut) and they fold flat for posting and have a matching envelope included the kit. They are so beautiful when complete that you’ll wonder how they could be so easy!”

These cards first appeared on craftsuprint this morning, and I bought six of them! I am a registered CUP Card Maker, and managed to get three gold stars, meaning that I can upload cards that I make using those three kits to the craftsuprint website.

Judging by Sandie’s previous 3D cards, including her pioneering Shelf Cards, I think that these are going to be very popular.

Here are my three cards, along with their item names and numbers in case you want some more information. Each kit comes with very easy to follow instructions.

Floral Cascade Deluxe

cascade

A new style of card for me! This is my first attempt at designing a Cascade Deluxe card, and I am really pleased with it. The photograph really doesn’t do it justice, the colours are much brighter “in real life” and because it’s printed on glossy photo paper, it’s all shiney.

I purchased the template to make this card from digital designer Carol Dunne of craftsuprint. I decided to create a floral card, as I wanted something pretty and unusual that I could give to my mum for her birthday. I combined peach / orange flowers with a cloudy background and ornate decorative triangles to create the main card, and then added even more flowers to the two arches at the top.

The great thing about these cards is that they fold flat to post! They are also very simple to make, and don’t require any tricky double-sided printed. Full instructions are included with the kit. You can purchase this cascade deluxe kit at craftsuprint. The usual price is £2.00, but it is currently on sale for £1.60!

Use discount code SUMMER to save 20% off of your craftsuprint order! Discount code expires at midnight tonight!

3D Concertina Window Kits

3D-kit

Today my brand new 3D Concertina Window kits were released on craftsuprint.

These kits are very simple to make and produce a 3D tunnel effect due to the concertina edges.

The great thing about these kits is that they don’t require any double-sided printing, yet all of the edges and sides of the finished card are printed (apart from behind the front panel, but this is barely noticeable).

The kit contains a choice of sentiments, as well as a panel to add to the back of the card to write your greetings on.

The finished card will fold flat and fit into a standard C5 (A5) envelope. A photographic tutorial is included in the kit.

Joke Cards on CUP TV

I know I’ve only just posted about CUP TV, but on Friday a new episode was released of me making one of my Joke Cards, so I thought I’d post it here too!

In this episode, I make my Crocodile’s Favourite Card Game Joke Card which is item number cup210166_172.

All you need to make this card is the Joke Card sheet, an A6 backing card, scissors, double sided tape and 3D foam pads. As an optional extra I show you how to make a fancy oval insert to go inside the card for that extra special touch!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on my CUP TV episode. Is there anything I could improve on? Please leave me a comment and let me know!

More Joke Cards!

Due to popular demand, I have added lots more Joke Cards to craftsuprint. There are now 23 to choose from!

Choose from jokes such as….

What cake do you eat in the bath?
Sponge cake!

What’s a vampire’s favourite fruit?
NECKtarines!

What do ghosts eat in Italian restaurants?
Spook-hetti!

Yes, I know, they are absolutely terrible! Cringeworthy, in fact… but they have lots of bright colours and fun images, which will really make them appeal to kids. Even some adults might appreciate a bit of humour!

If you have any jokes that I haven’t used yet, please leave me a comment and (if it’s appropriate) I will make a sheet with your joke! If I use your joke, I’ll send you the sheet for free!

Here are a couple of my newer Joke Cards. As usual, click the image to go to the sheet on craftsuprint. Each sheet is available to buy for only 80p.

Joke Cards

joke-cards

Last week I introduced my new “Joke Cards” to craftsuprint.

They are fun, vibrant cards that will put a smile on anyone’s face! Joke cards are perfect for children’s cards, but would be suitable for any age. They are very simple to make. Add the A6 “question” panel to the front of a card, and then stick the “answer” to the inside. Decoupage the front of the card using the layers on the sheet, and add the matching sentiments.

An online tutorial is available if you want more details on how to make Joke Cards.

Below are six of the thirteen (ooo, is that unlucky?) Joke Cards that are currently available to buy. I hope to add some more over the next couple of days. Click on the images to buy the sheets on craftsuprint – only 80p each!

Introducing “Wave Card Kits”

My next “New From” concept have just been uploaded to craftsuprint – Wave Card Kits!

I call them wave cards because of the wavy edges along the top and bottom of the base card, and also because of the outline of the main image in the centre of the card.

Wave cards are very simple to make. Instructions are included in the kit. The kit contains four sheets: card base, insert, decoupage topper sheet and pyramid topper sheet. You choose whether to add decoupage or pyramid layers to the main image. The pyramid & decoupage sheets contain matching sentiments.

Below is just a small selection of the Wave Card Kits that I have for sale. Click the pictures to go to the product page on craftsuprint. Each kit is available for only £2.00!
